Jim’s senior year was a culmination of four years of individual and team successes with a team championship and individual honors. The Churchman to Johnson combination resulted in nine touchdowns and five P.A.T.s in 1963. Against a solid Hamilton Taft basketball team, “Psych” scored 25 points and recorded 21 rebounds in defeating the Tigers.
Jim enrolled at the University of Dayton for his freshman year and entered the Army for a four year stint. Since 1969, he has lived in Dayton and has worked at General Motors for over thirty years. He is married to Tonya, and has a son, James Jr., a graduate of Jefferson High School.
Tonight, we recognize James Johnson for his athletic achievement and welcome him to the Talawanda Athletic Hall of Fame.
