Tony Bradley was the starting varsity quarterback for three
years, 1968, ‘69, and ‘70. He was the leader for three
years of great Talawanda teams under Coach Bill Bowers. It
has been thirty years since Tony played his last game, but
he still holds six Talawanda football records.
He is the only Talawanda player ever to rush for 1,000
yards and pass for 1,000 yards in a single season; he is
the only Talawanda football player ever to have a career
combination of 25 touchdowns scored and 25 touchdown passes
thrown. In 17 different games, he ran for a least one
touchdown and threw for a least one touchdown; he has the
longest punt return (68 yards) in Talawanda history.
He still ranks number one all time at Talawanda in
touchdowns scored in one game (5),total points scored in
one game (34), pass completions (17) thrown in one game,
and total yards running and passing in one game (319).
Tony rushed and passed for a grand total of 4,090 yards in
his career, a school record that no one else has seriously
threatened. Twice, Tony was first team all Mid Miami League
quarterback and twice all Hamilton Journal, all Golden
Triangle quarterback. He is a 1971 graduate of Talawanda
High School.
