Ken is a 1962 graduate of Talawanda, who participated in
basketball, football, cross country, baseball, and track.
Few graduates have received more letters and bars in their
four years of competition. Ken always demonstrated the
highest level of performance. His all out efforts
identified him as a strong physical athlete. Going half
speed was not part of his performance.
Some special awards and recognitions achieved include:
selected as THS most valuable player during his Sophomore,
Junior, and Senior year in basketball; Junior year, was
winner of Butler County cross country while in track, won
100 yard dash, 220 yard dash, and the 880 relay; held
individual scoring season record of 986 points for one
season for several years.
Ken continued his athletic career at Austin Peay College in
Tennessee. He established a new fieldhouse scoring record
in his freshman year with 45 points against Western
Kentucky and a total of 578 for the season, an average of
26 per game. Ken retired after 30 years with General
Motors, and lives with his wife Laura in Mansfield, Ohio.
