Our final inductee tonight is Charles L. Warren, though, if
he were here, he would without a doubt want us to call him
Chuck Warren.
Chuck is not going into the Athletic Hall of Fame tonight
because he was a great athlete, though he was a good
football player, wrestler, and was a starter on Talawanda’s
district championship baseball team. Chuck is going into
the Hall of Fame because he was the founder of the Hall of
Fame! Without his five year effort, none of us would be
here tonight. As most of you know, Chuck died just three
months before our first Hall of Fame induction program last
year.
Those of you who knew Chuck know that he was a sensitive
and introspective man. He noticed that after someone died,
the grave stone always was engraved with the date of birth
and the date of death, and that those two events were
separated by a short line or dash, and he wrote about it.
He left us a very important message about living our lives.
It is fitting that we hear that message tonight.
