
Coach Bowers served as teacher, coach, and athletic director in the Talawanda district from 1942, until his retirement in 1976.
Coach Bowers was instrumental to the success of the Stewart athletic program. During the many years, he coached every sport offered to students. He became the first athletic director at Talawanda, while continuing to coach golf and baseball. His leadership helped create the Southwestern Ohio Conference, the Mid-Miami League, and the Talawanda Athletic Boosters organization.
In recognition of his many years of achievements and dedication, Coach Bowers has been inducted into the All Ohio Athletic Directors’ Hall of Fame, the Butler County Sports Hall of Fame, and now the Talawanda Hall of Fame.
