John Cocanougher
John Cocanougher was an outstanding multi-sport athlete at Talawanda High School in its first 3 years of existence. Cocanougher played 2 seasons of varsity basketball, 3 years of varsity baseball, and was a two-way starter on the football team in the 3 years he attended Talawanda H.S. The 1957 team was undefeated and still holds the school record for fewest points allowed in a season with 32.

Cocanougher was all League junior and senior year, and went on to Miami University where he lettered, and was a two-way starter, for 3 years. He was a big part of a memorable 10-7 victory over Purdue University in 1962!

Tonight we recognize John Cocanougher for his successes in high school and college sports, his commitment to excellence in life, and welcome him into the 8th class of the Talawanda Athletic Hall of Fame!
