Michele Schwegman
Michelle Schwegman is a 1989 graduate of Talawanda High School. Michelle holds the distinction of making more state level appearances than any other Talawanda athlete. She competed in four state cross country championships, and three state track championships. (Michelle was injured as a sophomore or she probably would have made it four track championships as well!)

Michelle ranks among Talawanda ‘s all time great runners finishing as high as 4th in the state cross country championships in 1988, and 2nd in the 3200 meter run her senior season. At the end of that ’88 season Michelle was named the Cincinnati Enquirer Runner of the Year! She is still on the Talawanda record board as a member of two record holding relay teams.

After graduation from THS, Michelle was awarded a Grant-in-Aid to attend the University of Kentucky, and continued her running career. She was part of the Wildcats national runner-up cross country team in 1989, and set a freshman indoor track record at UK for the 3200m Run with a time of 17:50.

Michelle graduated with a Bachelors degree from the University of Kentucky in 1993, then went on to earn a Master’s degree in Sports Medicine in 2002 from the Arizona School of Health Sciences, and is currently a Physician’s Assistant here in Oxford with Dr. Rick Bucher.

As an adult runner, Michelle has competed in 3 Boston Marathons, as well as 4 other marathon events around the country.

Michelle Schwegman Goetz resides in Oxford with her husband Troy and their 3 children Trevor(4), Zach(3) and David(1). Tonight we recognize Michelle Schwegman for her athletic success at Talawanda High School, and welcome her into the 9th class of the Talawanda Athletic Hall of Fame!
