
At Talawanda, some of Mark’s accomplishments included being named All Mid-Miami League all four years in cross country, and being a member of 3 MML Cross Country Championship Teams. He was the MML individual champion 3 times, qualified for state 3 times, and was named to the All State Cross Country team twice. In track Mark won 6 individual championships in 3 years, set school records in the 880 (1:55.7), the mile run (4:18.7) and the 2 mile (9:24). Mark qualified for State in ’72, ’73 and ’74, and with 4th and 5th place finishes earned All-State track honors in ’73 and ’74!
After graduation from Stanford in 1978, Mark moved to San Diego where he continues to run for the exercise and enjoyment, and occasionally competes in 10K road races. Mark discovered volleyball in San Diego, and has added hiking and biking to his leisure time pursuits, sometimes mountain biking 70-100 miles on a weekend.
Mark and his wife Stacy got married in 1985, and currently live in Rancho Santa Fe, near San Diego, where he is the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Carrier Comm, Inc.
Tonight we recognize Mark Lindsey for his incredible athletic success at Talawanda High School, his commitment to excellence in education, and welcome him into the 9th class of the Talawanda Athletic Hall of Fame.
