What's New

FirstClass Upgrade to 8.3, E-News Notifications Fixed

The issue causing email to be delay or not arrive has been resolved and the FirstClass server has been upgraded to version 8.3 as we continue to move towards 9.1. This fix also reestablished reliability to our E-News notifications.

SMART Board Issues

It seems that the latest SMART Board software is having compatibility issues with Mac OS 10.4.10. Upgrading SMART Board software version 9.7.9 has fixed many of these issues.

TMS 102 Computer Lab

The computer lab in room 102 of TMS has been upgraded to newer iMacs running Mac OS 10.4.

Open Directory

This summer the district began it's transformation into a network-based home directory and authentication infrastructure. What does that mean? You can log into any Talawanda computer and all your files and settings will be there for you. We appreciate your patience during this process.

New Network Services

DHCP, DNS, and NTP servives are now available on Talawanda's network.

AppleTalk Disabled District Wide

In order to improve network performance and network printing, AppleTalk has been disabled district wide. Printers that were using AppleTalk have been switched to IP printing.

Open Directory Issues Resolved

Problems that caused failed authentication and home directory errors have been resolved by Apple Enterprise Support. Email Jim Vajda if you are still having authentication errors.

SMART Board Installation

SMART Board instalation has completed.

Elementary Student Computers

New student iMac installation is complete.

Sharp Bin Printers

The latest drivers for the Sharp AR-P350's have been installed on all teacher computers in the elementaries to enable bin printing.

TMS Open Directory Conversion

The Middle School conversion to Open Directory has completed.

Staff Web Site Migration

Staff web sites have been migrated to the Open Directory infrastructure.

Anticipated Work

FirstClass Server Upgrade

FirstClass will be upgraded to version 9.0.
